Trip from Pt Hedland to Camp

After doing a course on Saturday morning, I was picked up by one of my colleagues for the trip to camp.  Here are quite a lot of photos of the journey.  The trip took about 3 hours, mainly because we had to go the long way due to road flooding after Cyclone Heidi.

Rio Tinto's Salt

Empty Iron Ore train on it's way to Newman

We go straight ahead here

The lead locos on a 232 car & 4 loco train

Follow the horizon.... It's all the same train!

The horizon is still train.....

The middle locos

Finally, the end of the train and we can cross the tracks!

A different type of train!

I really am up in the Pilbara!

Turner River

Out the window of a very muddy car!

Long straight stretch of road

Our turn-off!

This grass is everywhere, and it appears to be the only grass

Me in the middle of nowhere!  I kind of blend in with the background.....

Flooded roadway that we had to pass

We turn left here

Magnificent sky!  Rail line in the foreground

More long straight roads, but this time they are dirt!

This is the line we will be working on.  When it's done, it will look like the one on the left

One of the locals

Only 9km until I'm "home"!
